MetroKitchen Announces the Arrival of Staub Cookware
Innovative yet traditional Staub French cast iron cookware is now available at MetroKitchen.com.
October 17, 2005 -- Staub, the leader of French culinary cast iron, is now available at MetroKitchen.com. Staub joins other top brands of kitchen essentials at MetroKitchen.
Francis Staub, the founder of Staub cookware whom Gourmet Magazine called, "perhaps the most innovative cookware designer in the world," is directly involved in the design and creation of each piece in the Staub line.
Staub combines the most ancient and effective cooking materials, iron and ceramic, with innovative design methods. The cast iron in Staub cookware allows for even heat distribution and retains heat long after it has been taken off the stove. It is perfect for slow cooking meals. A special smooth ceramic bottom enables it to be used on all types of heating surfaces.
One of the simplest, yet most innovative features of Staub cookware is the self-basting spikes underneath each Staub lid which allow steam to condense and drip back down onto the food.
Staub’s most important feature is cast iron that requires no seasoning!. Oils used when cooking penetrate the pores and create a natural, smooth non-stick surface.
Staub’s signature piece is La Cocotte, or the French Oven. MetroKitchen offers round and oval La Cocottes in a variety of sizes and colors. The collectible slow cooking Cocotte is available at MetroKitchen in the currently popular olive green color and is topped with a snail knob. Other collectibles include: Boullaise pot in a lovely deep ocean blue with a fish knob, a chicken roaster in rich pepper red with a rooster knob and a fall soup pot in deep burnt orange with an acorn knob. They are made in limited quantities and only available for a short period of time.
MetroKitchen also offers a number of other Staub frypans, grille pans, pots, tajins, and fondue pots.
The Staub family business was launched as a cookware store in 1892 by Francis Staub’s grandfather Auguste Waldner in Alsace, France. Francis took over the family business, and in 1974, purchased a nearby cast iron plant. As the company grew, so did its acquisitions. Now nearly thirty years later, the company stands as the undisputed leader of culinary cast iron in France.
MetroKitchen offers top brands of high-quality kitchen essentials, free shipping on orders over $49 and all orders are sent from the MetroKitchen warehouse the next business day.
